My Story
Camp Twin Lakes Partners with a program called Kate’s Club; A program for children who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Before coming to Kate’s Club, I had never met anyone who experienced the same thing that I’ve experienced. I never had any friend’s growing up, who understood exactly what the loss of my dad felt like. Kate’s Club provided a place where I was free to talk about all the things. I made friends with people who knew me and understood every emotion. Every year, Kate’s Club has camp at Camp Twin Lakes! The Camp Twin Lake’s staff facilitates all the fun you will have!
At CTL, you will paint pottery, go horseback riding, play field games, do archery, learn cooking, do arts & crafts, go swimming, and much more! No matter your story, CTL offers an incredibly fun, safe, and healthy environment for growth and connection. CTL encourages unity. So, you will absolutely look forward to being a part of the family year after year! CTL made it possible for me to develop close friendships with those with a similar story. I have some of the best memories at Twin Lake’s because of their extremely friendly staff, the warm & welcoming environment, and the ability to truly connect with, now, some of my best friends.

There are many YMCA gym location in the Metro Atlanta area! Chances are, you have heard of the YMCA or even had your own gym membership! Well, did you know that they offer summer camp for the kids too? I grew up going to several different YMCA camp programs and am confident that your child will have an amazing time! They offer both day camps, and overnight camps! So, while you’re getting your workout on, your kids will be having a blast too!
Furthermore, your child can experience a week of camp focusing on a singular hobby such as cooking camp, art camp basketball camp, and more! The IMpact
I wrote this blog because of the impact summer camp has had on my life, my friendships, and my social and individual development! The truth is, if it weren’t for some of the summer camps I attended as a child, I don’t know where I would be! As you can see in the photos in this blog, children have an absolute blast at camp. It’s where many of their core memories are made! When I got the position as a photographer for Woodlands Camp in 2022, I had an important role in capturing the memory of camp for each and every child I got to meet! Somewhere down the line, when they are grown adults, they will look back at the memories of camp and feel a great sense of joy!
However, it will also be so bittersweet. They will miss being a child. They will wish they could go back in time and redo camp all over again. I certainly do. So, give your child the gift of summer camp this summer. Give them these memories of being a kid! After a long, strenuous semester of school, give them the summer of their dreams! Summer camp isn’t just about having fun, though, that is an important part. But, it’s also about making lifelong friends, character development, developing a strong sense of self and resilience, and JOY! These amazing summer camps in Atlanta, Ga have so to offer you and your family this summer! So suit up! Get those kids ready for fun! They only get ONE summer per year. They grow and grow and sooner or later they will be too old for summer camp! But they will always remember the joy they felt.
