Swift Cantrell Park
When I was a child, I frequently visited Swift Cantrell Park located in Kennesaw, Ga. With 42 acres of land, there’s lots to do! It features two amazingly built playgrounds. The biggest playground is best suited for children aged 6+. Side note: This playground has woodchips! (Perfect for opening up an ice cream shop/pretend restaurant! If ya kow, ya know!!) Then there is the toddler and baby playground! Are you the busy mom who likes a morning or evening walk? Then you would love the trails. There are two trails. A one-mine- and half-mile. I often see kids riding their bikes, skateboards, and scooters, which is not something we commonly see anymore! There are also two big open fields for hosting parties, festivals, recreational sports, and team practices. The summertime splash pad is a favorite for both parents and kids! Parents can sit and watch their kids play in the water or even join in all the fun! The skatepark is where all the teens love to hangout and make new friends. From attending a movie in the park night to having a scavenger hunt on the trail, Swift Cantrell is as a must if you can’t tell!

If you love water parks and playgrounds, you will get the best of both worlds at Elizabeth Porter Park in Marietta, Georgia! Here, you can beat the heat and have a fun adventure with your kids on the playground or a scavenger hunt while walking on the trails! They have a colorful and unique playground that kids of all ages will enjoy! A few years ago, while nannying 3 children, we took them to Elizabeth Porter for a picnic! Their playground was a huge highlight for them and then 30 minutes into playing, I was playing with them! and I truly had a good time at 21 years old! So, if you enjoy playing with your kiddos, you will really enjoy the structure of this park and all that it has to offer for a family adventure!

All the parks I mentioned in the blog, are fantastic options for your family day out! I highly recommend visiting one closest to you, OR! if you are up for the adventure and have the time to spend all day at the park, travel to one that you love even if it’s a little further! When I was a kid, we used to spend hours in the day at the park! We would have a picnic with friends on most weekends! Feeding the ducks, playing with my friends and siblings on the playground, and using my imagination are all core memories for me! I truly believe that outdoor play made my childhood amazing! We made it a regular part of our routine and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! I can’t wait to create these memories for my future children!
